Shearn’s Restaurant Unveils New Fall Menu
Galveston, Texas - Galveston Island’s most celebrated chef is unveiling a new fall menu. Moody Gardens’ Executive Chef Urs Schmid has made Shearn’s Restaurant a tourist and local favorite, earning the prestigious AAA Four-Diamond Award in the process. Now the Island’s premier dining experience is even better with Chef Urs’ addition of a tantalizing array of new dishes.
The new fall menu features four new appetizers, Sesame Encrusted Ahi Tuna, Crab Cakes with Chipotle Avocado Mayonnaise, Lobster Ravioli with Fresh Asparagus, and Caponata & Ciabatta – a Sicilian style relish of eggplant, tomato, olives, capers and pine nuts served with grilled rosemary ciabatta slices.
Three classic dishes also join the menu - French Onion Soup topped with baguette croutons and gruyere cheese, Caesar Salad with Grilled Gulf Shrimp, and Mixed Baby Greens with Grilled Chicken.
Vegetarians will delight in two new vegetarian entrees, Portobello Mushroom Tortellini Rosa and Caponata with Grilled Polenta.
A Broiled Lobster Tail with a lemon and extra-virgin olive oil vinaigrette is an exquisite addition to the expansive seafood menu. For beef eaters, Chef Urs has added two new selections. Grilled Veal Chop Provencal, a 14 oz. chop topped with sautéed mushrooms and garnished with concasse tomatoes, will melt in your mouth while the new Peppered New York Sirloin Steak with sherry and raisins will satisfy even the heartiest of appetites.
Those in more of a fowl mood will be mesmerized by the new Grilled Chicken Breast Oscar – a classic grilled chicken breast topped with jumbo lump crab meat, sautéed asparagus, hollandaise and Chateau potatoes.
Guests can polish off a sumptuous meal with Chef Urs’ famous soufflé. This decadent dessert can be customized to fit your unique palate with flavorings such as chocolate, raspberry, Grand Marnier, lemon, amaretto or any other flavor your heart desires.
These new dishes are sure to be crowd pleasers, but don’t worry, the legendary favorites you’ve come to know and love, such as Chef Urs’ signature Lobster Bisque and Shrimp Dejonge, are still on the menu.
The new fall menu will be available beginning Tuesday September 11, 2007.
